Rational
for ORRCF
Over
the past few years, ORRCF Director Woody Henderson has
served as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) representative,
Chairman of the National Action Network's,(NAN's) Committee
on Administration for Children's Services (ACS) and founder
of ORRCF. At these organizations his responsibilities
include but are not limited to assisting and advising
parents and children that are caught up in the bureaucracy
of ACS and the Family Courts.
Mr.
Henderson is responsible for putting together forums,
hearings and training sessions dealing with the crisis
in the child protective services. These forms bring service
providers, parents, advocates, legislators and the press
together in an effort to help focus attention on and find
more expeditious and sensitive ways to solve this crisis
in our community related to child protective services.
Information gathered through research, interviews, going
to court, speaking with caseworkers, lawyers, law guardians,
parents, legislators and the press on issues related to
the operation of the foster care system and it's effect
on families that fit into low-risk categories, makes it
clear something is missing.
